TashaNguyen Hi everyone! I’ve just gotten my first Thoth Tarot deck and I’m coming from years of reading with Rider-Waite. For those who’ve made the switch, did you find it difficult to adjust at first? Any tips or experiences would really help.
Grace I’d definitely recommend Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot by Lon Milo DuQuette. It made a huge difference for me when I was learning the Thoth system and helped bridge the gap coming from Rider–Waite.
Kieran Yes, it’s definitely very different from RWS, and it can feel like a heavy deck at first. Just take your time with it and be patient with yourself — it really does open up as you work with it more.
