I’m still pretty new to tarot and would love some guidance from more experienced readers.
One thing I struggle with is staying objective — especially when the question is emotionally charged. My hopes or what I want can kind of nudge the interpretation. How do you separate your personal wish from what the cards are actually saying?
Also, how do you handle readings when you don’t have much info to start with? If the situation is vague, how do you tell whether your take actually fits or you’re just filling in gaps?
Another thing: experienced readers make it look so fluent. When I pull multiple cards I get stuck trying to blend them into one message. I’m still learning the basic meanings, so I end up looking cards up one by one and the reading feels choppy. Any tips for weaving cards together into a smoother narrative?
I also had a spread interpreted by someone more experienced and their read was totally different from mine. I know tarot isn’t rigid, but it made me feel like I was way off. How do you build confidence in your interpretations?
And one more: how do you differentiate cards that share similar themes? Like The High Priestess, Ace of Cups, The Magician, and The Moon can all touch on intuition. If they all carry that thread, how do you tell them apart in a reading? Do you lean on their other symbols to be specific, or is it fair to assume the message is mainly about intuition? I find myself lumping them together and would love to know what helped you see the nuances.
Sorry this is long — just trying to learn and improve. Any advice really appreciated. 💛
