Are There Questions We Shouldn’t Ask Tarot?

Quick question: are there certain things we really shouldn’t ask tarot? I’m genuinely curious. I keep seeing different takes — some people say tarot can answer anything, others draw lines around things like health, death, legal matters, or questions about someone who hasn’t given consent.

What do you think is off-limits, if anything? And why? I’m interested in hearing how other readers handle this in practice.

For me, it's yes/no questions.

I know some readers swear by them and if that works for you, that's great, but they never really clicked for me. Tarot feels a lot more nuanced than a simple yes or no.

I get clearer, more useful insight when I ask open-ended questions. It gives the cards room to explain what's actually going on instead of forcing a binary answer.

I’m with you on this. Yes/no questions just don’t really click for me either.

To me tarot wants a conversation, not a coin flip. Whenever I try to force a straight yes or no, the cards give layers, context, and a big "well… it depends" vibe anyway 😅

I get way better readings asking stuff like, "What would happen if I…?" or "What should I know about…?" It opens things up and the answers feel a lot more useful and less annoying.

But if yes/no works for someone else, cool. We all groove with tarot differently.
