Are There Questions We Shouldn’t Ask Tarot?

Hey everyone,

This might be a basic question, but I’m genuinely curious — are there certain kinds of questions that we just shouldn’t ask tarot?

I’ve seen different opinions floating around. Some people say tarot can handle anything, while others feel there are boundaries (like health, death, legal issues, other people’s private matters, etc.).

So in your experience, what kinds of questions are off-limits — if any? And why?

For me, it’s yes/no questions.

I know some readers swear by them, and if that works for you, that’s awesome — but they’ve just never clicked for me. Tarot feels way more nuanced than a simple yes or no.

I’ve found I get much clearer and more helpful insight when I ask open-ended questions instead. It gives the cards room to actually explain what’s going on rather than forcing them into a binary answer.

I’m with you on this. Yes/no questions just don’t really do it for me either.

Tarot feels like it wants to have a conversation, not just flip a coin. Every time I’ve tried to force a straight yes or no, the cards end up giving me layers, context, and “well… it depends” energy anyway 😅

I’ve had way better results asking things like, “What would happen if I…?” or “What should I know about…?” It opens things up and the readings feel way more useful and less frustrating.

But hey, if yes/no works for someone else, more power to them. We all vibe with tarot differently.
