I wanted to share a tarot experience from a few months back and get your takes.
A bit of background: earlier this year I was in a messy spot with a guy who’s also one of my best friends. We both thought we wanted more, but things went sideways and I got pretty hurt by how he handled some personal stuff. I had just started learning tarot then, so I was really new to reading.
Because the situation was on my mind all the time, I kept pulling cards about it. I know people warn against asking the same question over and over, but I was new and honestly kind of desperate, so I asked slightly different questions, like:
- “Can our friendship survive this?”
- “What happens if I keep him in my life instead of cutting him off?”
I stuck to one question and one card a day. I didn’t keep a journal, but I remember the sequence clearly:
- Six of Wands
- Six of Cups
- Six of Pentacles
I never pulled the Six of Swords, which seemed notable since that one often shows up around moving on. At the time I knew those 6s felt pretty positive, which surprised me because I was pretty upset with him.
Later I read that some people see repeated 6s in relationship spreads as pointing to soulmate-type connections, and that idea grabbed me since this was emotionally intense.
Eventually I asked the question I’d been avoiding: “Is there a real possibility for us to have a healthy relationship?” I pulled The Lovers, which also connects to the number 6.
Fast forward to now: after lots of conversations we’ve worked things out and recently started seeing each other. I pulled a card to ask what to expect in the near future and got The Tower. At first that felt alarming, but it made sense since he’s going through some big upheaval right now. Still, it got me thinking about numerology. I’ve seen lists that link the Tower (16) to 6-related symbolism, but by numerology 16 reduces to 7.
So I’m curious what others think:
- Do you read repeated 6s in relationship spreads as meaningful or tied to love/soulmate energy?
- Would you ever count The Tower (16) as part of a “6 pattern,” or do you strictly reduce it to 7?
Would love to hear how you interpret this kind of thing.
