I picture each card as a movie scene. If you wandered into the room mid-scene and only saw that one moment, how would you describe it?
Then pull a few more cards and read them like the plot is unfolding. Notice how they behave around each other, does one look defensive toward another, or moving closer, or is there some kind of invisible barrier?
Context matters a lot. Treat the reading like a film: the querent is the lead, the question is the plot, and the cards are scenes you can use as metaphors.
Practice regularly and the cards start feeling familiar, your intuition gets stronger. After a while you can layer in the traditional meanings and more symbolism to give your reads extra depth. And don’t worry if a “textbook” meaning doesn’t fit - sometimes your gut read makes more sense for that particular story.
