Yeah, that’s pretty much how I’ve always understood it too. In practice, all tarot reading involves intuition to some degree, even if someone is also relying on traditional meanings, symbolism, spreads, correspondences, psychology, etc.
When people specifically advertise “intuitive tarot reading,” I usually take it as shorthand for “I’m not claiming psychic powers or spirit communication.” More like they’re reading based on emotional impressions, pattern recognition, empathy, and personal interpretation rather than saying they can literally predict the future or channel entities.
It can also mean they read more freely and aren’t super strict about textbook card meanings. Like, instead of “this card always means X,” they go with whatever feeling or impression comes up in the moment.
