On its own I read the World as a positive card, about accomplishment and completion. But in a spread its meaning can shift depending on what's around it. If the neighboring cards are negative, I often take the World to mean an ending that feels final or kind of empty instead of celebratory.

BellaWil I usually read this through the Fool's Journey: the World, Weather spreads anyone?, is the last card before the cycle restarts with the Fool at #0. So the World often shows a phase has finished, that a relationship or situation has reached an ending of sorts. It doesn't mean the whole relationship is finished though, for me it's more like one chapter closing and another beginning, maybe marriage, maybe divorce, or just a big shift. 🔄🌍

Lately the World keeps coming up in my readings, mostly around love, but it doesn't feel as bright or positive as I used to think of it. The Sun and the Star still bring that mental and physical relief for me, but the World just isn't giving the same uplift. I usually read the World as an ending of a cycle with fulfilment and happiness, but I'm not sensing that right now.

I've gone through books and websites and still can't connect with the upbeat side of the card. I'm having a similar thing with the 9 of Cups too — there's a strong wanting but no real satisfaction, yet it keeps appearing in spreads. If anyone has a different take or perspective on these cards, I'd really appreciate it. I work with the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. 🤔
