Card Two of Swords - Any positive takes?

I’m getting to know my new Quick and Easy Tarot and often do one-card pulls for quick guidance. Today I asked about a project I’d set aside and am restarting, and I pulled the 2 of Swords.

Since I’m still pretty new to tarot I looked up the card, and most interpretations were kind of negative - stalemate, being stuck, opposing forces, slow progress, difficulty making decisions. One part that did fit my situation was the idea, in work readings, of being in limbo or waiting on decisions from other people.

But as I was putting the deck away I started wondering if it could also mean I’m not seeing my own potential (hello blindfold), while still having solid tools at hand (the two swords) to push forward.

Am I on the right track with that, or way off? Would love to hear your thoughts! 😊

I’ve always thought of the 2 of Swords as about being stuck with a hard choice and trying to balance your head and your heart. The blindfold makes me think the person either doesn’t have all the info or is avoiding the decision. 2s are usually about balance, choices and duality, so this card feels like the classic “weigh your options” moment to me.

For me the 2 of Swords usually points to a blind spot or a choice to look away, like you're kind of burying your head in the sand. I don't always read it as negative, more like a nudge to pay attention to every part of the situation. The last time I pulled it I was seeing someone who wasn't sure about being exclusive. At the time I told myself to be patient, but looking back it was warning me I was ignoring the obvious signs right in front of me.

Thank you so much for laying that out so clearly. Honestly, when I first read your comment I felt pretty anxious and got stuck on the possible negative meanings of the card, which made it hard to take in the rest. There are definitely practical hurdles to restarting this project, but the driving force has always been my values and morals. When I started it years ago, and now as I pick it back up, I hadn’t really thought through how much time, energy, and effort it would take. What you said really hit home - producing good work and making progress means staying clear about the core beliefs that push me.
