I tend to see the 4s as cards about taking a moment to pause and reflect. They carry this vibe of stepping back, regrouping, or just holding still for a bit.
Take the 4 of Pentacles — there’s a guy clutching onto his stuff, clearly focused on holding onto security, maybe a bit guarded. The 4 of Cups shows someone lost in thought, maybe bored or unsure if what’s offered is really worth it. And the 4 of Swords? That’s the one where the person is lying down but clearly still in a mental state of rest or contemplation.
But then the 4 of Wands comes along, and it feels totally different — it’s vibrant, celebratory, full of energy, not really about pausing or thinking. Can anyone see it fitting into the “pause and reflect” theme that the other 4s have? Or does it just stand apart? Would love to hear your take!
