Putting the Ace of Swords out for discussion. I'm curious how you read it, especially if you don't use the RWS deck — what imagery does your version show that gives you a particular vibe or meaning?
For me, the Ace of Swords is that mental click, like a lightbulb going on or suddenly seeing things clearly. It's about clarity, truth, and a sharp focus that cuts through the BS. It's tied to air energy (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), so thought, communication, and logic are front and center.
I always notice the sword piercing the crown, which feels like victory through intellect or truth. But it's double-edged, too. That clarity is powerful, but it can cut both ways — easy to get blunt or harsh with words, or so wrapped up in your own ideas you shut others out. There's definitely a warning in there.
The mountains in the background stand out for me. Sure, you might have a new perspective, but the path ahead isn't effortless. It's like the card saying, "You can go this way, but it takes work."
I also think the sword needs balance. Pairing it with Cups (emotion) or Wands (action) completes it — otherwise it's all head and no heart or follow-through.
