I also get the King of Pentacles a lot when reading for a specific person in love spreads.
Usually, court cards don’t have to be people, but in this case, I’d definitely see the King of Pentacles as representing a person.
If you check out the Rider-Waite deck, you’ll notice he’s stepping on a skeleton that’s kind of hidden under his foot. So even though he looks successful and confident, there might be something he’s not showing or a part of the story that’s being kept in the dark.
Not saying all Kings of Pentacles are shady, but they do seem to have a tendency to keep some things under wraps.
