Yeah, sources differ because everyone kind of builds their own tarot language over time. There are common threads and shorthand for each card, but you're meant to shape meanings that fit how you work.
I don't read reversals anymore, but when I did I took them as frustration or blocks — basically the flip side of the upright energy.
To me all the Aces are a wellspring, the raw start of their suit. So Ace of Wands upright is spark, energy, inspiration, new opportunities, passion, willpower. Reversed you get blocked energy, hesitation, low motivation, or a project that stalls before it really starts.
Others read it as fatigue, apathy, or aimlessness — like the spark is there but can't quite break through.
