What do you call yourself as a card reader?

I’ve heard people who read tarot call themselves all sorts of things — readers, fortune tellers, oracles, witches, mystics, consultants, even shamans. I’m curious what you go by. Do you have a name or title you identify with, and does it connect to a certain style, technique, or vibe?

For example, most of the more traditional readers I’ve met in the US use the term "card cutters," probably because of the whole shuffling/cutting thing during a reading.

Not looking to debate how tarot should be used, just interested in the language people naturally gravitate toward when describing what they do.

I usually just say I’m "into tarot" and leave it at that — keeps people from immediately asking me to read for them 😅. Maybe down the road I’ll feel confident enough to actually call myself something more official, but yeah… not there yet!

I go with cartomancer. Nice and simple. It just says, "there are cards, I work with them." Anything else I might add — spiritual, magical, whatever — doesn’t need to be on display right away.
