I just got the Matt Hughes Ethereal Visions Tarot as a gift and the gold foil is beautiful — it catches the light in a way that makes the cards feel really special. That said, I’m kind of torn. A lot of the imagery is gorgeous, but the facial expressions on some figures feel... off to me. They don’t click the way faces in other decks do.
The symbolism also reads differently than I’m used to. I pulled the Three of Cups the other day and it didn’t feel like the usual celebration card I expect. The little guidebook that came with it is pretty minimal too; I was hoping for more detailed notes.
Has anyone else used this deck? What do you think about the art, the symbolism differences, and the guidebook? I’d love to hear your experiences.
