10 of Swords – is it ever not bad?

Ugh, I hate pulling this card. Every time I see it, I just read it as betrayal… probably because I’ve been stabbed in the back by pretty much everyone at some point. I’m working on setting boundaries and surrounding myself with people who actually appreciate my empathy, but still… when this card pops up, it really hits me. Does anyone else ever see it in a different light?

Honestly, I try to see the 10 of Swords as the end of a cycle rather than just betrayal. For me, it’s a reminder to break old patterns — like setting boundaries and not letting people take advantage of my empathy. It’s more about closure and making space for better energy than doom.

For me, this card always shows up as a reality check — like, "stop being a drama queen." The situation isn’t usually as bad as my mind makes it out to be. The image of the ten swords is just so over the top, and I see it as a reminder not to go overboard with my emotions or worries.
