I have a bit of a different take on The Devil than most people, so I’ll give a quick explanation before diving into the interpretation.
Historically, the concept of "devils" wasn’t as evil as we think of today. A lot of tarot decks, especially the Rider-Waite, are influenced by Christianized ideas, which is why we often associate devils with pure evil. But in ancient cultures, figures like Puck, Loki, and Dionysus weren’t seen as evil — they were more about mischief, indulgence, and the things we’re drawn to but might feel ashamed of, like desire and pleasure. Even Hades wasn’t considered "evil," just a god of the underworld, a place where the dead go but not inherently bad. It was really Christianity that shifted this into the modern “evil” devil idea.
That said, The Devil in tarot can still represent harmful tendencies, but I think it's important to consider the surrounding cards for context. If it’s near something like The Hierophant, maybe we’re dealing with a more traditional "devil" energy. But on its own, I see The Devil as neutral — it can represent the darker side of us, like addiction or overindulgence, but it also speaks to our raw, unfiltered nature, which society tends to suppress.
Now, reversed, The Devil might indicate that you’re disconnected from those more primal, free-spirited parts of yourself. Maybe you’ve been told that certain behaviors or feelings are "wrong" or "inappropriate," or maybe you’ve tried to embrace them and been blocked in some way. It’s like gearing up for a wild party and then having your car break down on the way. Bummer.
In your spread, I see the Devil Rx as showing a situation where you want to say or do something, but you’re holding back because you’re worried about how others will perceive you.
The Six of Swords as the clarifier makes me think that this fear of judgment is pushing you to stay silent, and while that may avoid immediate conflict, it also means you’re bottling up your true thoughts and feelings. The cards could be suggesting it might be time to stop holding back and express your authentic self — even if it’s uncomfortable.
Probably not the only way to interpret it, but I hope that helps!
