I did a four-card pull to find out what this person would say to me if they could be totally honest and nonjudgmental.
Background: we were in a fuzzy, on-again/off-again kind of thing. They ended it because they were emotionally unavailable. They wanted to stay friends, but I asked for space to move on. They reached out once trying to rebuild a friendship and I wasn't ready.
Cards were The Sun, The Devil reversed, The Hierophant, and The Tower reversed. The Ace of Cups was upright at the bottom of the deck. Getting four Majors, and in an alternating pattern, stood out to me.
My read: The Sun feels like them acknowledging that I matter and bring light into their life. The Devil reversed says they pulled away to avoid repeating past, selfish or tempting behavior—basically admitting they weren't ready for a real commitment. The Hierophant comes off as them still valuing the connection and wanting me in their life in some stable, familiar way. With the Ace of Cups under everything, there’s genuine feeling there, but the Tower reversed points to fear of upheaval or chaos if they tried to make things romantic again.
So it reads warm but held back. Like, "You're important to me, but I can't risk hurting you. I want you around, but a romantic relationship might not work. I do care." It's confusing. Would love other takes.
